Matt and Luke Joeckel, what do they feed those boys?

In the case of Reecanne and David Joeckel the question must be asked, “what do they feed those boys?” Matt and Luke Joeckel, twin brothers from Arlington High School in Arlington, TX, are both heading off to Texas A&M University next fall with big expectations and excitement to be playing in the Big 12. The two announced their decision after investigating several D1 options, said Matt Joeckel, “It wasn’t our intention to both play at the same college and we made it clear that we didn’t need to be a package deal in order for us to commit to a college, things at Texas A&M just worked out that way.” And for Texas A&M, work out they did. Both Matt and Luke are big time division one prospects and scoring the two of brothers should certainly pay off for A&M in the years to come. “I had a little over 30 offers on the table but I chose A&M because of the tradition and most importantly the coaching” said Luke Joeckel. “as an offensive lineman, I really like Coach Sherman’s philosophy.” The same holds true for Matt Joeckel, “knowing that this staff has the experience that they do really gives me piece of mind, not to mention the emphasis that they put on offensive line play” said Matt. For the 6’3” quarterback it’s no surprise that pass protection is on the top of his priority list. It will be interesting to see how Matt develops in the A&M system, with great size, sound mechanics and good arm strength, he possesses all of the tangible attributes for the makings of a successful Big 12 QB. Though they are twin brothers and Matt was born a few minutes before Luke, Luke was the one that stole the extra size. The 6’5” offensive lineman will be a force to reckon with in college, he has great technique and is extremely gifted athletically. With the start of an impressive recruiting class already established, the Joeckel boys just may find themselves a part of what could be a big Texas A&M rally!

Gray will be a Longhorn!
